What kind of fruit to buy in Sharm El Sheikh?

Egypt is not only a sultry desert climate. The eastern country will be surprised by vitamin delicacies, the taste of which will become a real exotic for Ukrainian tourists. What fruits to buy in Sharm El Sheikh to pamper your receptors? We talk about fruits that are mandatory for tasting, if you have already planned a trip to the shores of the warmest sea.

Oriental “delicacies”
Despite the fact that the Egyptian resorts operate according to the All Inclusive food system, they cannot boast of a wide variety of fruits offered for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Watermelons and peaches, apples and oranges can be eaten at home. And going to the eastern country you should not miss the opportunity to enjoy fresh oriental fruits.

If there are no exotic vitamin goodies in the hotel, then where to buy fruit in Sharm El Sheikh? Head to the Old Market, which is located in the Hadaba area. We recommend shopping in the morning, when the goods are fresher and there are fewer tourists near the shelves.

Exotic Medlar
What fruits in Sharm el-Sheikh should be the first on the list for tasting? Those that contain the most vitamin. Medlar refers to them – a round or slightly oblong fruit of a bright orange hue.

The loquat tastes sweet and sour and slightly tart with pleasant spicy notes. The fruit ripening period is May. This fruit will be especially beneficial for people with diabetes.

Oriental figs and dates
Usual figs and dates, which can be bought in almost any Ukrainian supermarket, are radically different in taste from Egyptian fruits.

To get to the date crop, go on vacation in the fall and winter. For figs, the ripening period is short – August-September. Unlike the domestic market, fresh fruit in Sharm El Sheikh will cost half as much.

Useful Guava
How to buy fruit in Sharm El Sheikh if you like modern shopping with counters without sellers and air conditioning? Go for guava to large supermarkets such as Metro or Carrefour, where there are no lines, and prices are fixed.

Outwardly, the fruit of this plant resembles a pear, but there are varieties also round and oval. Under the thin green, reddish or yellow peel of ripe fruit, the flesh of white, pink, saturated red or yellow shades is hidden. You can buy a guava in Sharm in any season except summer.

Sweet mango
Mangoes are no longer exotic for Ukrainians, but look for the true taste of tropical fruit in Sharm. The weight of one fetus reaches 2 kg. In Egypt, a dozen varieties of this tree are grown: Alfonso is moderately juicy with a slight sourness, Timor is very sweet, and Sokari is distinguished by its small fruits. The ideal time to enjoy a variety of ripe mangoes is from July to February.

Unusual Esta
How did you get an Arab estu? Crossed gooseberries and currants, and called the selection result “sugar apple”. The taste of an exotic fruit can be compared to a fruit salad of melon, strawberry, apple and yogurt – this is how the locals describe it.

Only the inside of white color is recommended for use, it is better to exclude the darkened pulp from food. For the convenience of tasting, you need to cut the fruit into two parts and use a teaspoon.

Esta is an autumn fruit that you will try if you visit Sharm El Sheikh in the second half of October and November.

Bright bananas
Egyptian bananas are smaller in size than usual for us, and they differ dramatically in color. Bright red or slightly purple palm fruits have an interesting aroma and pronounced sweet taste, which is often compared with raspberries.

It is not necessary to choose a certain season for a trip to the Red Sea in order to try a bright fruit. Bananas grow here all year round.

What fruits are there in Sharm el Sheikh other than those described above? In Egypt, you can also meet the familiar melon, grapefruit, watermelon, grapes, strawberries, apricot, persimmon, pomegranate, pear, mandarin, peach and yellow banana. Papaya, carambola, physalis, pitaya and cantaloupe should be added to the list of exotics. If you are going on a trip to Sharm, know that the vitamin here is no less than the sun.
